Women Run Business

At the heart of the Indian Block Print Co. is a women-led business, founded by Maggie and now run alongside her daughters Tess and Annabel. Together they have grown the company from its early beginnings into a thriving creative business built around community, craftsmanship and a shared love of block printing.

From workshops and product design to trips to India and collaborations with artists, their vision continues to shape the direction of the brand while encouraging creativity and confidence in others.

Our Team

Behind the scenes at the Indian Block Print Co., the majority of our team is also made up of women. From packing orders and running workshops to designing new products and supporting our customers, they play an essential role in the day-to-day running of the business. And of course, a special shoutout to Travis for being such a good sport putting up with us all and happily joining in with our girly chats!

Their creativity, dedication and passion help bring everything we do to life, and we feel incredibly lucky to work alongside such a supportive and talented group.

Collaborations

Working with inspiring female creatives has always been an important part of our journey. We were incredibly proud to collaborate with the fabulous Cath Kidston on her Joy of Print collection. Inspired by her love of gardening and scented geraniums, Cath designed three exclusive sets of Indian wooden printing blocks alongside a beautiful new fabric paint palette.

One of our long-standing collaborators is Paula Milner, also known as The Crafty Lass®, whose joyful and distinctive style has influenced several of our block collections and colour palettes. It was also a pleasure to host Paula on our most recent trip to India, where she experienced the magic of traditional block printing first-hand.

Collaborations like these allow us to bring fresh ideas into our designs while continuing to celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and shared inspiration. We’re also very excited about two fabulous new collaborations currently in the pipeline for 2026, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

Female Block Carvers

Woodblock carving in India has traditionally been a male-dominated craft, which is why meeting Kamine felt so significant. As a female-founded business, supporting and championing women in craft industries is incredibly important to us.

It was encouraging to learn that Kamine is part of a small but growing group of women in her village training in woodblock carving. Change is happening, slowly but meaningfully.

Tours To India

Our tours to India have become a very special part of what we do and on our most recent journeys every one of our guests who joined us has been female. Sharing the experience of visiting workshops, meeting the makers and learning about the traditions behind block printing together has created a truly inspiring and supportive atmosphere.

Our Female Customers

While our community includes people of all backgrounds, the majority of our customers are women. Their creativity, enthusiasm and continued support have helped the Indian Block Print Co. grow into what it is today.

From workshops to home projects, we love seeing how our community uses block printing to create something uniquely their own.
